CoCoRaHS KiDAT Task

Hi All,

This is to gauge the community's interest in access to a CoCoRaHS task / converter. If you already have access to one, please comment on this post so that we aren't redeveloping anything. Otherwise, a shareable task / workflow is anticipated in the near future.

Gord @ MNRF here.... we don't have a KiDAT task for  retrieval / conversion of CoCoRaHS  data.

Would definitely be interested in access to the CocoRaHs network once the KiDAT task has been developed. Very timely with the recent integration of the Radar tools.

Is the CoCoRAS converter still being thought about?

I see nobody has downloaded this, which is good.  I noticed yesterday that the datafiles have T's in them for trace, and I am trying to adapt the CoCoRaHS to ZRXP script to convert these to small values.  Will repost once that is done.

UPDATED.  CoCoRaHS_to_ZRXP.tsk now inserts a small value for Trace data entry, 0.005 inches for all data types.  Data is downloaded in inches and converted in the import agent to mm.  There may be a way to specify in the DL URL that you want mm, but I didn't bother looking into this.

To get all data for all Ontario stations for the past 30 days run task CoCoRHaS_DL.tsk on a daily schedule.

To convert/import to WISKI, run task CoCoRaHS_to_ZRXP.tsk.

You can go in and edit the VBA code to change the start and end dates to get historic data, but I have already done this, going back to 2013.  I don't believe there is any older data out there, but I may be wrong.  In any case, the file is too big to post here, so go get it here:  https://ftp.thamesriver.on.ca/WISKI/CoCoRHaS_2022_6_2_hist.csv
